Cecil, Awoke

“I have often puzzled and puzzled: about what it must be like, to go to sleep and never wake up.
To be: simply not there, forever and ever. After all one has some, intimation of this, by the interval
that separates going to sleep from waking. When we don’t have any dreams, but go to sleep,
and then suddenly we’re there again; and then the interim, we’ll have nothing
.”

V1
ce’cil, awoke
he floats free on his thoughts
cumulus cloud
keepin’ feet on earth rocks
carelessly, some people
free throw their talk
but trivial chatterbox
ce’cil is not

ce’cil — he could code
the keystrokes to stop
flow of the fiscal
get the econ, to flop
reset the game boy
remem’ber guy fawkes
remem’ber the gunpowder,
treason and plot

ce’cil — is lethal
to people atop !
that crème de la crème
who take seize of the flock
he shouts to the crowd
“let’s, dethrone these cops !
“destroy their stock !
“let’s free up their crops !”

V2
[ ready ? ] catch ! 22 years of age
an adult, but he’s young enough
hung up — on rage
to bring about change
but it’s always brung up
that he’s raw, undercooked
yellow, runny yolk egg

Bridge
ce’cil he’s so boiled hardish
rolling eyes at spoiled garbage
bad behavior, power mongers
even though he’s younger
doesn’t mean less stronger

V3
ce’cil puffs weed smoke
he coughs and he chokes
he tweets what he reads
then gets lost in the quotes
he studied the news today
bruise to the brain
no time to snooze
too much to explain ..

too much to explain ..

In the western world, I suppose we have two, dominant ideas, about what happens to us when we die. There’s the old-fashioned idea, that after you die we go to another world. I say ‘old fashioned’ — not to say it’s out of date — we don’t know what the answer to this is ..
